Frequently Asked Questions
Why is it called "Bat's in the Belfry" instead of "Bats in the Belfry"?
The title of the comic is actually a play on words. Since Wes, a bat, lives in the Belfry Manor, the name of comic
can be interpreted as saying "The bat is in the Belfry Manor". Technically speaking, "(the) Bat's in the Belfry (Manor)".
It's also a reference to craziness or insanity, such as when someone is accused of having bats in their belfry, alluding
to the sort of bizarre things that happen in the BitB storyline.
If Wes is a bat, then where are his wings? Why do his wings disappear and reappear?
When Wes was asked about that (in episode #10), he said "family secret" and at the time of writing this FAQ, it
hasn't been revealed. However, Wes is half-bat and half-cat, which could account for some of the reason why his wings
don't always seem to be part of him. Of course, the Belfry family seems to be surrounded by strange circumstances,
so there could be other explanations for this mysterious attribute as well.
Is Wes supposed to be you and Greta is supposed to be Heather?
Hehehe... no. Wes and Greta are very much their own people and possess many different personality traits than Heather and myself.
Is "Sweet Sorrow, Part II" a canonical part of the BitB storyline?
Yes. Any of the short stories in BitB are a part of the regular storyline and occur between certain episodes or alongside them.
Can I do fan art of your characters?
Fan art should be something that pays homage to the characters and is a way of saying "thank you" to the creators. It should
never be something that seeks to disrupt, ridicule, or profit from. With that in mind, we are happy to receive fan art
that meets these expectations. Please check the legal information link at the bottom of this page for more information.
Can I link to your page?
Yes, please! We'd love for you to provide a link to our page that encourages others to come read our comics and stories.
Will you advertise for my website? Can I do a link exchange with you?
Right now we're doing our best to try and keep BitB from getting cluttered with advertisements, although we do like to
help promote other people's works and, of course, promote BitB as well. It would be best for you to contact us and let us
know more about you and your website so we can discuss what sort of arrangement, if any, might be appropriate.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
